Five questions to ask when comparing SEO proposals

A team reviewing a work plan using notes on a glass board.

Price and duration tell only part of the story. The meaningful differences are in how the work gets done.

Who will lead the work?

Clarify the roles of the people you meet and the people who will implement the plan. Ask about relevant experience, ownership and the communication rhythm.

Is the first three-month plan written down?

Look for more than a list of tasks. The plan should explain why each task matters, its expected effect, dependencies and how completion will be checked.

What is the strategy built on?

Understand how technical health, search intent and content needs fit into one plan. Ask which findings support each recommendation and who will take responsibility for implementation.

What will reporting show?

What did we do, what changed and what comes next? Ask for a report that answers those questions and a summary leadership can use.

What will your team keep?

Access, briefs, task trackers, technical decisions and measurement should remain usable by your team after the engagement.
